Boosterthon Fun Run
The Boosterthon Fun Run is an exciting 2-week program that emphasizes fitness, leadership and character and serves public and private schools throughout the country by helping them boost funding. Their team members are consistently serving schools by building confidence and character in students while helping schools provide better facilities, equipment, programs and opportunities in the classroom.Since its inception in 2001, Booster has served more than 1,000 schools raising $54 million. As product-based strategies rapidly decline, more schools are turning to Booster's leading, healthy alternative to school funding. What's even better? They have a proven track record of increasing school funding by more than 50 percent per student.
In addition, Booster Experience Leaders also bring the classroom to life teaching values based on a yearly theme. For Spring 2010, that theme is "STAND UP" and represents the following character initiatives: Serve One Another, Take Time to Read, Ask Great Questions, Never Give Up and Discover Your Talents.
We're excited to tell the Boosterthon Fun Run story and be part of the mission to encourage kids to live healthy, active lifestyles and make positive choices. Visit http://www.funrun.com for more information.
Nike Running
The first of its kind, Nike launched a store dedicated to bringing Nike Running to life at the Stanford Shopping Center in Palo Alto this Spring. It's more than a store, Nike Running Stanford is designed to be a runners' hub -- with the Runners' Studio, where you will find even more specialized products, services and individual help to meet your goals. It is the place to go to get setup with the individual workout tracking of Nike+, the most fun and effective way to keep track of fitness progress digitally. It also offers the ability to customize kicks with NIKEiD, or take a new pair of shoes for a free trial test run. Of course, you can always join Nike Run Club for a group run of your choice of a 3, 5 or 7-mile route. (You can join Nike Run Club in other cities with a Nike Store as well!)

SchoolsWIN with Windstream!
Schools win with Windstream’s new campaign to give away $250,000 to schools across the nation. To aid in funding technology upgrades and school projects, SchoolsWIN has been a welcomed surprise in public, private and charter schools within its residential service areas.Composed of the two main parts, the program consisted of a 16-week Classroom Caravan, which visited schools nominated by a community member. Along with Click the Dog, the Classroom Caravan crew met with excited principals, students from all ages and news crews who covered the big surprise $1,000 check presentation.
In addition, Classroom Connections awarded at least six $25,000 prizes to schools who chose to organize and participate in a community improvement project. This ranged from planting a public garden, cleaning up a park or doing something to better the community. The sky was the limit! It not only helped the community... but the schools, too! Check out which schools won the $25,000 awards!
